Commando Connect makes every effort to protect your identity and will never disclose your phone number or e-mail address. However, you must protect it too! Please follow these tips to ensure you have a safe experience with Commando Connect.

Protect Your Privacy
If you want to protect your privacy, DO NOT use your real full name as your user name! Instead, be creative and create an identity that reflects your interests or anything other than your full name. Just keep it clean.

Maintain Your Privacy
Never post personal contact information in your profile and don’t share your real name, phone number, email address, home address, or any other identifying information in messages or conversations until you have established a reasonable level of trust with the other party.

Report Abusive Users
We define abusive users as anyone that makes you feel uncomfortable. Abusive users often post inappropriate comments, intimidate, or threaten you, post offensive or frightening photos, tell lies, ask for money or donations, send spam, and push you to reveal personal or financial information. Sadly, these types of users exist everywhere online, which is why Commando Connect created the option to “mute” or “remove” friends that you no longer want to hear or be connected to. Go to the Friends tab under matches and tap the three vertical dots next to a username to view these options. You can also block and report abusive content posted on the home page. This puts you in control of your connections and help us better manage the Commando Connect community.

Users don’t know when they have been “muted” or “removed.” Immediately “remove” any Commando Connect user who misbehaves or treats you in an abusive way and report the behavior to Commando Connect by emailing safety@Commando Connect.com. Call law enforcement if you feel threatened or unsafe. Your involvement will help keep Commando Connect safe.

Know People Online Before Meeting Anyone Offline
Use the tools available through Commando Connect that protect your anonymity to get to know someone before meeting them in person. We highly recommend using free live video chat tools that protect your anonymity to meet people visually online before physically meeting face-to-face. CAUTION: make sure your username on these services or the background of your live video does not disclose your identity.

Offline Gatherings
When you meet someone new on Commando Connect and use other tools like live online video to ensure the person is real and honest, it can be exciting to meet in person for the first time. However, we still suggest you never meet anyone by yourself (bring a friend) and ALWAYS MEET AND STAY IN A PUBLIC LOCATION. NEVER MEET IN A HOME OR OTHER PRIVATE OR REMOTE AREA.

Tell a friend or family member where you are going and who you are meeting. Bring a cell phone, stay sober, always be in control of your own transportation, and never leave your beverage or personal belongings unattended. NEVER go to the person’s home or bring them back to yours on the first meeting. Continue to meet in public until you know the person really well. And, if you are ever pressured to go someplace more private, end it, and leave at once.

Safety Tips for Mobile Use
Meeting a fellow Commando Connect user via this app can help fast track a conversation and open your eyes to people you otherwise might ignore. This can be a rewarding experience, however, always act with caution when communicating with any stranger. Do not treat the situation any differently than if you met a stranger without the assistance of Commando Connect.

Stay in a public location and do not disclose your real name until you feel ready and confident that the person you’ve been chatting with is honest and safe. Remember to always trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe or threatened, cease communication and report any misbehavior immediately by emailing safety@Commando Connect.com. Contact law enforcement if you feel you are in immediate danger.

Civilians
This site is intended only for active-duty Airmen in the United States Air Force.

Airmen
Commando Connect was designed to help Airmen better connect and engage with their peers. However, if you find you and someone you have matched with via the app are becoming involved in an “unprofessional relationship” either online or offline, remember you must still follow the Air Force Fraternization policy.

Commando Connect is committed to maintaining a safe, trusted online community. We want to make it easy for people to find each other, but it’s critically important that the experience be positive for all of our users. Please help us keep Commando Connect a trusted community by being vigilant and smart.
